Darkness and Redemption of Humanity in The Shawshank Redemption

As a film revealing darkness and redemption of human nature, The Shawshank Redemption has profound practical significance. By contrast, the film presents the darkness and ugliness of humanity, and also reflects the self-salvation of human nature through completely different characters. Under the condition of loss of human nature in prison, the protagonist Andy still insisted on his self-belief, and was redeemed by virtue of his strong resilience. At the same time, the contrast between Andy’s self-salvation and others in the prison shows the contrast between good and evil of human nature, and profoundly reflects the true appearance of human nature.
