The Influence of Greek Civilization and Eastern and Western Civilizations on the Olympic Movement

Abstract

New Theory of Olympics edited by Mr. Li Yuying and published by Lanzhou University Press in 2003, explains the spiritual essence and internal context of the occurrence and development of the Olympic Movement from the perspective of the influence of Greek civilization and Eastern and Western civilizations on the Olympic Movement. It is of great significance to grasp the development direction of the Olympic Movement, promote the integration of Eastern and Western sports, and advance the globalization and popularization of the Olympic Movement. New Theory of Olympics not only overlooks the Olympic civilization from a macroscopic perspective, but also analyzes the relationship between Olympic Movement and the social superstructure, economic base and Chinese sports theory from a microscopic perspective, which allows us to understand the Olympics in all aspects.
